Credit Card Approval over the INTERNET

ezTCP can be embedded in a credit card machine.
If you want to send the credit card information and get approval, Internet (or network) communication module has to be contained within your device.
In this system, ezTCP received data from the credit card device (reader), and send it to the remote server for approval.

Remote Console Monitoring

Monitoring devices' console ports

This system is a monitoring for devices which have serial console ports like a router.
ezTCP sends the messages from console ports to the remote server and vice versa.
Because almost all of ezTCP series have security options, users can prevent access by unauthorized system or person.

This system uses Ethernet or Wireless LAN type module of ezTCP so that users connect POS system devices like a barcode scanner or a small printer to the Internet.
Any kind of shop which use POS devices can apply this.

ezTCP Throughput (1)

In the first time of throughput test, 2 ports ARM7 core units are used. Those are CSE-M32, H20 and H21.

* What is the "Throughput" in data communication?
>> "Throughput"  is the average rate of successful message delivery over a communication channel.

* What can be inffered from the "Throughput"
>> Throughput can be a factor that can estimate performance of communication devices.

* Opinion

 These products showed such nice performances.
In the high baud rate, the "Disable TCP Transmission Delay" option will help the performance of CSE-M32 to be much better.

Temperature Ranges

In general, temperature ranges are classified under three types.
The range can be divided as Commercial, Industrial and military ranges.
All the products is designed considering it.
This may related with its purpose.

The specification of each range is followed.

1. Commercial Temperature Range
Temperature Range: 0 ~ 70 degrees centigrade
Applied Products: Most ezTCP series

2. Industrial Temperature Range
Temperature Range: -40 ~ 85 degrees centigrade
Applied Products:
CSE-H25
(CSE-H21 guarantees operation temperature from -40 to 70 degrees centigrade)

3. Military Temperature Range
Temperature Range: -55 ~ 125 degrees centigrade
Applied Products: Not Yet

New F/W of ezTCP

New F/W of ezTCP

 

Some of ezTCP’s Firmwares have been changed.

The versions are followed

 

EZL-200F: 1.3I -> 1.3J

CSE-M32/H20/H21: 1.2H -> 1.3A

CSE-M73 -> 1.4D -> 1.5A

CIE-H10/M10 -> 1.3C -> 1.3D

 

[Major points of the changes]

 

1. Add the AT+PSE command in ATC mode: CSE-M32/H20/H21/M73/CIE-H10/M10

 

AT command lets users operate ezTCP as a TCP server or client.

When TCP connection is established, if you send three escape code “+++”, you can change the Online mode to AT command mode. Doing it, the “+++” character must be sent to your remote host. However, some people didn’t want to send it. To solve this problem, AT+PSE command has been added.

The usage is like this

 

AT+PSE=0

AT+PSE=1

 

It’s quite simple.

If the value is 0, the characters are not sent. The default value is “1”

 

2. Add the MAC ID function: CSE-M32/H20/H21/M73/CIE-H10/M10

 

MAC ID function is for identification with its MAC address.

Checking this option, ezTCP will send its MAC address to the remote host right after the connection is established. The option is available on both TCP server and client mode.

 

The options can be configured by ezManager.

(New ezManager(ver.3.0c) is being developed and tested now. And it will be released soon. You can use the option with it.)

 

For your information, EZL-200F has a similar option with this.

 

3. Multi Monitoring in RS422/485 connections: EZL-200F

 

As you know, EZL-200F supports multi monitoring option. 8 different hosts can be connected with the model in the same time. This option was available on RS232 connection in previous F/W. New F/W has been changed at this point.

You can use the option in RS232/422/485.

 

We are always thinking about users’ convenience in using our products. So, we have been adding a lot of options on their firmware. Thus, we recommend that users always use the latest version of firmware. The file will be on our website.

Let’s look at the ISP mode

 

In System Programming (ISP) mode

 

Q: What is the ISP mode?

 

ISP mode is one of states for upgrading firmware of ezTCP series. This mode is also used about solving problem with password for most of ezTCP. When you’ve forgot the configured password on your ezTCP, ISP mode will help you. In ISP mode, password and an option accessing to its configuration tool (ezManager / ezConfig) do not working.

 

Q: Then, can I use this mode all the time?

 

The answer would be No!

The TCP connection or data communication is impossible in this mode. So, you should use this mode when you are faced with above two situations.

 

Q: How can I get enter the mode?

 

The ways could be different on their types.

 

EZL-50R/50A/50L/50M

Pull-down the ISP- pin and then, reset or resupply the power to the product.

In case of using evaluation board, connect the jumper to the ISP position and reset or resupply the power.

 

EZL-60/60L/60M

Place the JP1 (ISP jumper) to ISP location for making a short circuit of those two pins. And then, reset or resupply the power.

 

EZL-70/CSE-M73

Connect the ISP jumper (EZL-70: JP1, CSE-M73: JP6) for making a short circuit of those two pins. And then, reset or resupply the power.

 

EZL-200L

Press the ISP button by RJ45 connector over 3 seconds in normal mode. Or, resupply the power while pressing the button.

If EZL-200L is in ISP mode, the STS LED will be blinks very quickly.

 

EZL-200F

Resupply the power while pressing the ISP button located by RJ45 connector.

If EZL-200F is in ISP mode, the STS LED will keep on.

 

EZL-410

Pull-down the ISP- pin on JP1 and then, reset or resupply the power.

In case of using evaluation board, place the jumper on JP5 to ISP location and reset or resupply the power.

 

EZL-300S/400S

Both products don’t have ISP mode. The firmware download will be implemented in telnet connection.

 

CSE-M32

Pull-down the ISP- pin and then, reset or resupply the power.

In case of using evaluation board, locate the jumper on JP5 to ISP location and reset or resupply the power.

 

CSE-H20/H21/CIE-H10
Press the ISP button over 1 second. Or, resupply the power while pressing the button.

If the products are in ISP mode, their STS LED will keep off.

 

CSP-H50

Reset the power pressing the ISP button or input “pf” in command mode.

 

EZL-300L/90

Resupply the power without wireless LAN card. The products will be operated as ISP mode for the first 2 seconds. If there are no inputs for the time, the mode will change to console mode.

 

CSW-H80

Resupply the power pressing the function button. Or, press the button over 1 second.

 

Q: How can I upgrade the Firmware?

 

Each manual of products indicates details of the process.

 

Here is a something you should know.

 

Products called ezTCP/LAN, EZL-50/60 series, EZL-70, 200L, 200F, 220, 410, 400S, CSE-M32, M73, H20, H21 and H10, can download the F/W through the Ethernet port.

 

Products called ezTCP/WLAN, EZL-80 series, EZL-300L/S and CSW-H80, can download the F/W through the serial port.
